The 42nd Annual
McNish Classic Yacht Race
Saturday, July 25, 2020
Let 2020 be your year to be part of the McNish Classic
If you have never entered or have missed a few years sailing in the McNish Classic Yacht Race, you should participate this year! For over 40 years, this gathering of classic yachts has attracted boats from up and down the coast. Some years nearly forty yachts have participated: some serious racers, others just enjoying the fine sailing. From the 135’ Yacht America to the 18’ Gearys, every entrant has a chance to be crowned a champion! All the keelboats vie for the prestigious Strathmore Cup and the skipper’s weight in champagne awarded to the “First to Finish”.
Starting at 1200 Noon on Saturday July 25th, the first boat leads the “inverted start” fleet on a 17-mile course over the waters off Channel Islands and Ventura Harbors. A Bar-B-Que and trophy presentation will take place at the Pacific Corinthian Yacht Club following the race. Trophies will be awarded in each class, Best Elapsed Time, Bristol Boat and the “First to Finish” skipper receives his weight in champagne. Friday night, prior to the race, there will be a free taco bar.
For more information call Cheryl McMichael (805) 794-3998 or the Pacific Corinthian Yacht Club office at (805) 985-PCYC (7292). To download the Entry Form, Click here.
